At this year’s BlizzCon, Blizzard Entertainment revealed more Diablo 4 news and details during the latest deep-dive and interview session on their upcoming action role-playing game.
The Rogue
Blizzard has finally revealed the fourth class in the upcoming Diablo 4, the Rogue.
Returning to the franchise, Rogue’s are a dexterity class capable of both ranged and melee attacks.
The class is a bit of a hybrid and will see some features borrowed from the Assassin of Diablo 2 and the Demon Hunter of Diablo 3.
The Rogue has three specializations:
Shadow Realm – The Rogue becomes immune and pulls their enemies into the Shadow Realm, where they can deal devastating damage.
Combo Points – Stringing together attacks will unleash additional damage and effects.
Exploit Weakness – Enemies become highlighted, allowing the Rogue to strike for extra damage and guaranteed critical hits.
These will unlock by completing class-specific quests.
Rogues also gain access to an Imbue System, allowing them to switch up their playstyle on the fly and take control of the battlefield through the use of deadly poisons and shadow magic.

Diablo 4 Challenges
In an interview, John Mueller (Lead Art Director) and Joe Shelly (Lead Game Designer) spoke about the open-world in Diablo 4 and the challenge that comes with it.
Diablo 4 is non-linear, with players tackling areas, quests, and challenges however and whenever they want. Although, story events and quests will still be locked in a certain order.
Player choice is at the heart of everything in Diablo 4, as Mueller explained.
“There’s an entry point in the game. Then there’s a point when things diverge, and you have a lot of options about which way you can go”.
Diablo 4 PvP
Yes, Diablo 4 has PvP.
Venturing into PvP zones called the Fields of Hatred, players can work together to complete activities and defeat bosses or turn on each other and fight.
Entering the Fields of Hatred will get you Shards of Hatred which you can spend at special vendors on items, mounts, and cosmetics.
Diablo 4 Camps
During your exploration of the open-world, you will stumble upon camps, strongholds of evil.
Every camp features its own story and enemies that are only there to claim the land for themselves.
Tackling the camps will free them from the monsters or bandits and reveal more lore and earn you more rewards.
Diablo 4 Facts:
- Weapon types look “different” depending on the region. A sword looks like a sabre in a desert region, but like a broadsword in Nordic regions.
- There are to be endlessly replayable dungeons as well as new key dungeons where players can decide for themselves what kind of dungeon challenge they want to face.
- Characters can jump over chasms or overcome elevations.
- Seasons are planned.
- The developers wanted to give details on set items, but in general the combat strength should depend more on the character (attributes, skills, talent tree) and less on items. In general, the items and the distribution of the affixes should allow much more freedom in the builds.
- Treasure goblins will be back in the game.
- PC and console versions will be identical in content.
- The PC version can also be played with a controller.
- Cross-progression with PC and consoles; no cross-play.
- The Rogue trailer was recorded entirely with the in-game engine, with the gameplay slowed down slightly in places to better show the Slayer’s attacks.
- No details were given about a release date or further console implementations.
- Each class offers a male and female version.
Is Diablo 4 Worth Buying?
Well, Diablo 4 is not likely to release anytime soon, with Blizzard not wanting to rush it out, and we could be waiting until 2022 at the earliest.
The news so far is promising, though, with Diablo 4 set to feature cross-progression between PC and consoles, male and female versions of each character, planned seasons, and endlessly replayable dungeons.
Content will be the same, too, whether you’re playing it on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC, or even a PS5 or Xbox Series X. You won’t miss a thing.
There is plenty more to be released, of course, before we can buy Diablo 4. But, with every passing cinematic, trailer, and leak, the hype continues to grow.

loved diablo 2, havent been liking blizzard too much recently but hopefully they do something nice and capture some nostalgia and bring in some good new stuff.
I don't feel too sure about Diablo 4 yet - I was really hyped for Diablo 3, as I had been playing D2/LOD off and on again since it originally released (such an amazing game, but I'm also wary about the remaster), but ultimately was let down and gave up playing it after a while. I know they ended up making it much more enjoyable/playable in the end, but it was too little, too late for me, and I never got back into it. It's a great choice to introduce proper PvP, as it was pretty much lacking in D3 - it should be rewarding for those who choose to focus on it, but also it should not be detrimental to the rest of the experience (i.e. if you don't do PvP you will be lacking in gear or other areas). In the end, I will most likely still pre-order the collector's edition though, as I've been doing with almost all of the Blizzard releases - not very smart of me I know, but what can you do; they also look nice 😋 I just strongly hope that it'll be enjoyable straight from the release day.
Diablo is one of the most interesting games for me! But with this new serie, i cant wait to try that pvp mode! the only problem is u have to wait months before u can play it :/
Long live Diablo! And it seems that it goes back a bit to that classic aesthetic ... Hype :D
