Destiny 2 Free Expansions

Destiny 2 may have fallen off a bit the past year but with the soon-to-launch The Final Shape expansion, Bungie is going full on to get players back and excited for the game’s newest content.

For those who have downloaded Destiny 2 on any platform, you can now have access to Shadowkeep, Beyond Light, and The Witch Queen. This promotional event will run until June 3, 2024.



It doesn’t end there too! Branded as Expansion Open Access Month, not only do you get the three major expansions but also all season content which includes Season of Defiance, Season of the Deep, Season of the Witch, and Season of the Wish and all unlockables they come with. Any items you earn during this time are yours to keep forever even if you do not buy the expansions after the event.

And for Playstation Plus subscribers, you also get access to Destiny 2 Lightfall as it was part of the free-game lineup for May 2024. So yep, all available expansions are available to PS Plus members making it a full access to Destiny 2 for free! The Lightfall access will also end on June 3 when the next month’s free games lineup is up. It all fell into place as the Destiny 2 The Final Shape release is scheduled on the 4th.

There are currently four available expansions with the 5th one releasing on June 4. For the earlier ones including the original Red War campaign the game launched with, these have all been vaulted. There is no announcement yet whether Shadowkeep (the oldest available now) will be vaulted soon but things can happen quickly so if you haven’t played it yet, don’t miss out on this opportunity!
