According to Bloomberg, sources claim that Call of Duty 2023 may get canceled or delayed by Activision, with another game possibly taking its place.

IS COD 2023 DELAYED?
In a recent Bloomberg article, Jason Schreier writes that 2023 will be the first time the CoD franchise “will be without an annual mainline release in nearly two decades.”
According to Schreier, his sources revealed that poor sales from recent Call of Duty games, possibly Call of Duty: Vanguard, forced Activision Blizzard Inc. into rethinking their strategy.
Call of Duty has seen a new game every year for almost 20 years, and now Activision reportedly believes they are releasing new CoD titles too quickly.
It’s not all bad news for CoD fans, though, as Activision did say in an emailed statement that they have “an exciting slate of premium and free-to-play Call of Duty experiences for this year, next year and beyond.”
As for new games, Activision is working on other projects, including a new free-to-play game that will release instead of Call of Duty 2023.
Treyarch, who are supposedly working on the 2023 Call of Duty game, are now helping to develop the new unnamed title.
Importantly, this doesn’t mean the end of Call of Duty, with Microsoft and Activision Blizzard determined to carry on the franchise that has sold more than 400 million units since 2003.
