The Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel is smothered in detail which creates a living, breathing world at the cost of some story and character development. There are times where things get too focused on pushing setup, essentially sacrificing time with the story and protagonists. However, no matter what happened, my curiosity was piqued to see what would happen next, and I had the fun combat to keep me company in the meantime.
