Telltale is back with a new adventure based on The Expanse tv show and will take place before the events of the first season. The game will still be divided in episodes that are scheduled to release periodically and promises to be a big step-up in terms of gameplay and choices from the previous titles. Navigation in this game promises to be diversified due to gravity mechanics and choices should have more impact on the outcomes of the different characters' lives.
The Expanse is a sci-fi TV show that I absolutely love, and I was thrilled to hear that there was a Telltale game based on it. The gameplay itself will be a classic Telltale-style game, with plenty of choices that affect the outcome of the story. I loved being able to make decisions that impacted the lives of the characters such as in TWD, and I'm happy to do so again! Overall, if you're a fan of The Expanse, (or Telltale games) will be a must-play.
The Expanse A Telltale Series offers a 3rd-person narrative adventure with a focus on space exploration, particularly shipwrecks, as well as combat. We play as Camina Drummer, for those who have followed the excellent series released in recent years and available on Amazon Prime Video (or the books, of course, which are more complete). However, the protagonist doesn't look much like the actress in the series! One of the most interesting gameplay elements will be the use of magnetic boots to search a room from top to bottom, and the use of thrusters. Combat is more standard and doesn't offer a breath of fresh air, but it does alternate between dynamic phases and those of research and reflection, not forgetting the many narrative passages, since Telltale games are generally story-driven.
After some difficult times, Telltale is back to deliver more episodic games. Their next title is based on the TV series The Expanse, which takes place before the events of the show's first season. For those wondering, we'll be able to understand the plot even if we're not familiar with the series. In fact, the game can introduce us to the characters and the universe. There will be a lot of adjustments to the gameplay, so it's not just the choices we make that impact the outcome, but also the things we discover along the way. Visually stunning, The Expanse: A Telltale Series gives you the urge to play and explore the vast space. More good news: the developers promise to release new episodes every two weeks, so we won't have to wait long this time. My only downside is their decision to release the game as an Epic exclusive, although I understand why they did so.
After going bankrupt and the rest of the team being brought back by LCG Entertainment, the newly-formed Telltale is back once again, announcing earlier this month about the launch, on the 27th July, of The Expanse: A Telltale Series. Realized around the ScI-Fi Fiction series, which is based on James S. A. Corey's book series, this new Telltale series will revolve around the character of Camina Drummer, during events prior to the TV-series. An executive officer of a treasure hunter crew on the lookout for treasures at the edge of the Belt. As per usual in Telltale games, she'll meet characters with different and varied personalities and make important choices, along with the ability to interact much more than usual, being able to explore various section of the ship and even part of the outer space. A good return for Telltale hoping this "new" team is able to deliver the same quality and experience as the older titles. A nice addition is that despite the episodic nature, the team has opted for a much more frequent release of two weeks for the other 4 episodes and the first one is released, making the price more reasonable and acceptable without having to wait a month for the next part.
