Star Trek Resurgence is an interactive narrative game developed by Dramatic Labs it tells an original choice-driven story in the iconic star trek universe. Set after the events of Star Trek: The Next Generation players will step into the shoes of two characters first officer Jara Rydek and engineering ensign Carter Diaz, as they unravel the mystery involving two once peaceful civilizations on the brink of war.
One of the best games of 2023 so far, Star Trek: Resurgence deserves to be spoken about as discussions surround the best Star Trek storyline of all time. Yes it is that good.
As a lifelong Star Trek fan, I loved every single moment of my time with Resurgence; and that includes when I had issues. But for those that aren’t huge fans of the source material, I can say that the sluggishness of the controls when you are able to actually *play* this video game may be too much to endure, even if you are down for a good story.
I’ll admit, I was a bit skeptical about playing Star Trek: Resurgence given that I’m not much of a Trekkie at all. None of that mattered though, as even though I didn’t know much of the previous context or background lore outside of main concepts and characters, I still quite enjoyed my narrative focused mission with Commander Jara Rydek and Engineer Carter Diaz.
