    About this game

    Sheltered is a post-apocalyptic base building survival strategy game developed by Unicube and Team 17 Digital Ltd. The nuclear holocaust has begun, given a head-start over the billions lost in the ensuing apocalypse you must gather as many supplies as possible en route to the concrete underground shelter that will soon become your families new home for the foreseeable future. Giving whole new meaning to the term “Nuclear Family”.

     
    • Keep your family alive and protect them from the ravages of the harsh post-apocalyptic world by maintaining your shelter, keeping it secure, habitable, and making sure that your family have enough resources to survive.
    • Customize your family each of them can be tailored to be unique to you decide their gender, names, and appearance. As your family grows your stats will adapt with an evolving experience and trauma system. Their attributes, strengths, and weaknesses will dynamically change based on your choices.
    • Send your family out to explore and gather resources, then recruit outsiders with different personalities integrating them into your shelter life and earn their loyalty.
    • As a last result for those who cannot be reasoned with, violence can be used as a last result. Your family’s safety might depend on it.

    Sheltered is unquestionably inspired by Fallout Shelter but it’s much more challenging and complex. It’s too complex for its own good and a lot is left to chance. It could also use more action. Over time, I am confident Unicube will make Sheltered very good but a lot of factors have to perfectly align to experience Sheltered’s goodness at once.

    Right now Sheltered is the most fun when you’re just starting out, and it gets less fun as you go along, but its developers are still working on the game and accepting feedback, so maybe they’ll adjust the difficulty and add some end-game content in their upcoming patches. Regardless, Sheltered is fun enough right now to be worth its budget price.
