Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown is hands down the best Metroidvania that I have played in a long time. My gold standard has always been Castlevania: Symphony of the Night but Ubisoft has really knocked this out of the park.

A change of direction for the Prince of Persia saga. Personally, I would have liked to see a UE5 version in the style of the old PS2 games (Sands of Time!!!), but I’m also a fan of the Metroidvania genre, so I’m fine with this. And there are some interesting combinations that make the battles quite enjoyable, the mix is perfect with the platforming and puzzle stages! The game still has room for improvement, perhaps in terms of story and gameplay, as well as graphics, but it’s still very good.
Prince of Persia The Lost Crown represent the return of an old classic series after well over 14 years of abscence in the game industry. This Ubisoft IP has been brought back using the 2.5D formula combined with a Metroidvania approach, albeit far less frustrating and leaning more toward the platforming experience, rather than the punishing and strict system. A revival of a classic series that follows the MC Sargon. With a rather well rated reception and fun and not too convoluted gameplay
Among all platformers released in the past few months, Prince of Persia The Lost Crown seems the most interesting to me. Filled with puzzles and secret rooms, the game is interesting to explore. I think that Ubisoft might be having hard times, considering the sales of their other games, but this one was surely a success. If you like titles with Metroidvania elements, then go for it!
This new installment of the Prince of Persia franchise we see a shift in genre from the previous games. The Lost Crown is an action-adventure, 2.5D metroidvania with colorful visuals and swift combat. Explore the world, find secrets, fight various enemies, bosses and rely on your quick movements to overcome the hardest platforming and combat sequences.
