Mafia: The Old Country is like a proper, story-first Mafia again,tight pacing, great atmosphere, and a Sicily setting that does a lot of heavy lifting without needing open-world bloat. It’s the kind of game where the characters and the tone carry you through, and the more focused structure actually helps the drama land.
Mafia The Old Country seems like a very tightly woven narrative around the origins and rise of Enzo Favara in the Sicilian Mafia. Fans of the series will certainly be pleased by the story, setting and the appearance of certain characters. Can't say I'm a fan of the knife fights but the rest seems pretty good, if you're new to the series this is not like GTA at all, despite sharing some similarities so be aware before purchasing.
This Mafia, a prequel to the saga, changes the rules a little. More directive, with a linear storyline, exploration is possible but sometimes lacks interest. However, the main content is enjoyable, with captivating Sicilian voiceovers and beautiful, authentic landscapes, thanks in part to the UE 5 engine, and the lighting and shadow effects are top notch. That said, the gameplay is classic and the stealth system is outdated... the game doesn't really stand out from the crowd.
