ABOUT LOST JUDGMENT THE KAITO FILES STORY EXPANSION

The Kaito Files is a DLC expansion for the action beat em up RPG Lost Judgement developed by Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio, play as the muscle of the Yagami Detective Agency Masaharu Kaito takes on new cases to tie up loose ends. Following the events of the base game Kaito starts a lucrative case while Yagami is out of town looking for his old flame Mikiko. Along the way, Kaito meets a teenager claiming to be their son team up together and solve the mystery of her disappearance.

• At the crossroads of the past and present you are up against a syndicate tied to Kamurocho’s criminal underbelly. Discover the reason why Kaito and Mikiko split up and what this dark brotherhood has to do with her.
• Challenge a plethora of new bosses with Kaito’s unique combat style, then scour Kamurocho for new collectibles, in this larger-than-life drama expansion spanning four chapters.

If you love the Judgment series, The Kaito Files DLC offers more of the same with enough of a little refresh in gameplay to keep it interesting, and while still offering the usual balance of humor and compelling storyline that Ryu Ga Gotoku Studios has mastered. After all, not many games will have you wrestling in a hot tub with a guy in his underwear while on the hunt for a murderer. Though I would have liked to hit the streets of Yokohama with Kaito or pick up some side cases, it’s an enjoyable experience that left me wanting to spend more time with my favorite flashy-dressed bruiser.

The last time I can really remember a DLC eclipsing a main game is perhaps that of Minerva’s Den for Bioshock 2. And that is regarded as one of the best pieces of DLC of all time.
