Lords of the Fallen (2014) is a dark fantasy action RPG developed by CI Games and Deck 13, harnessing powerful magic alongside a satisfying combat system, long time ago the human realm was ruled by Adyr, a terrible and vicious god who enslaved mankind. But a rebellion grew over time, led by three powerful beings, banishing them to a distant dimension finally freeing humanity to dictate its destiny. Now a millennia later Adyr threatens to break free from his imprisonment his legions have started to invade the human realm carving a bloody path for their master’s return. Desperate and under siege Mankind calls upon an unlikely savior a convicted sinner rejected by society, he must travel to the source of this Darkness and face the Lords of the Fallen.

• From crumbling tower tops to ancient burial grounds, delve into a world facing mass destruction. Explore labyrinthine paths and uncover hidden passages in pursuit of great treasures, but be warned loot isn’t all that awaits the curious.

Lords Of The Fallen 2014 Reviews

There is definitely room for improvement in Lords of the Fallen but the base for success is certainly there. Should CI Games and Deck13 Interactive get a chance to make a sequel I’d be willing to check it out. The positives are that the gameplay is addicting and the rush of besting your adversaries is a great one. While the difficulty might not be of the calibre that Dark Souls fans clamor for it will challenge most gamers and is an enjoyable, albeit flawed, dark fantasy RPG romp.

I found the gameplay quite addicting and even chose to do some of the side quests instead of only focusing on the main story since it was an overall fun experience. If you’re into action RPGs such as Dark Souls, Lords of the Fallen may be worth a try for you. It’s not a vast open-world RPG, but the combat is fun and there is quite a bit to do.

It is moody and oppressive, but rarely terrifying; it is a power fantasy, not a heart-wrenching death simulator that rolls deadly boulders at you as if you are a single, miniscule bowling pin.
