Almost 10 years after the initial release of Europa Universalis IV, Paradox is still gracing us with new free updates and DLC. The DLCs do not all offer the same quality or quantity of content, so embarking on the EU IV adventure may put some people off today. However, should this slow down Paradox? Not sure, as this game is an absolute reference in its field. In my opinion, it has no equivalent. Its historical acuity is not without flaws, but when you fight on the whole globe for 4 centuries, it's complicated to reach perfection. The game is unrivalled for its infinite lifespan, its depth, its attention to historical detail, its possibilities, and let's not count the multi, the mods, the achievements...! In short, the Domination DLC addresses an aspect that will interest many: it deepens the management, the history, the possibilities offered to the BIG nations and empires to enrich (not facilitate) the game experience! Ottomans, France, China (Ming/Qing...), Japan, Russia, Spain, GB and some more "minor" nations. Were you more into a World Conquest objective with Frankfurt or an African nation unknown to the general public? It's time to rediscover your classics. The new details are welcome and change some known dynamics. The price is already competitive on Allkeyshop so there is no reason for regulars to hesitate. The reviews are relatively positive, so it is one of the DLCs not to be ignored to improve the game experience.
Europa Universalis IV: Domination is a DLC that brings some new special units and historic details for existing nations but it's main focus was the rework mission trees. The changes of mission trees were made so decisions have more impact over the long course and to try and create more balance between nations. Sadly this DLC wasn't very successeful upon release due to high price and bugs.
Despite being almost 10 years old, Europa Universalis IV, Paradox strategy and historical sim game, has received a brand new dlc in the form of Domination, which promises to add new interesting content, but alas fail to really impress. Comprising of several minor updates, reworks and rebalance (unbalances to be fair) on top of some new content. With new expansion branches to Italy and German Empire for the French, along with the new unit Musketeer. England receiving a new naval unit in the Man o War and the option to expand into India and American continent not to mention establishing the East India Company. Spain with new missions for Castille and Aragon, thus being able to create the country Spain with both but with different kind of paths, on top of their merciless new unit in the form of the iconic Tercio. Ottomans and Cinese empires receiving a new Estate for their respective Janissaries and Eunucs, Japan being able to accept Christianity, over 60 new government reforms as well as new estate privileges. New designs for units from specific cultures, new events, music, holy orders, disasters and more. More akin to a medium size update rather than a full blown dlc, Dominions while add something it also fail to impress, given it also unbalance things out, often collide with previous dlcs and break the game with some bugs here and there, all of that for an outrageous 20€ pricetag, while the base game is available for just 4€ on keyshops. At current price, almost at 10€ it could be excused, if you are a big fan of the series and want the most up to date experience, not to mention want to complete the dlc collection. Otherwise wait a bit more and grab it when it's 8€ or less.
