A gritty dark-fantasy metroidvania taking place in a setting with religious tones and inspired by the spanish inquisition. Blasphemous lets us explore the fictional realm of Cvstodia, fight horrifying creatures, find secrets and face challenging bosses. The pixel-art graphics match very well with the somber tones of the game and the bloody executions. Not as fast-paced as Hollow Knight but if you’re into 2D side-scrolling metroidvanias it’s a must try in my opinion.
Mea Culpa sings its grim hymn as the Penitent One carves a bloody path through Cvstodia’s twisted tapestry. Grotesque horrors, echoes of twisted faith, beg for mercy…never granted. Brutal pixelated combat fuels your penance. Explore haunting beauty, secrets whispered in cryptic lore. Each boss, a blasphemous dance of pain, tests your resolve.
Developed by The Game Kitchen and published by Team17, Blasphemous is a metroidvania set in a pretty dark and brutal fantasy universe, inhabited by nightmarish creatures and dangers. We’ll play a Penitent One, a survivor of massacre and stuck in a life &death limbo. Thus it’s up to you to break the cycle and find your final repose. With beautifully crafted pixel graphics, a nice soundtrack, a challenging gameplay that fits and runs perfectly on the go on Switch
