Bandai Namco and Amazon cancel Blue Protocol MMORPG

Blue Protocol, a MMORPG by Bandai Namco has had its Western release canceled as the company announced the decision to shut down the game in Japan.

Bandai Namco Online released Blue Protocol in Japan in June 2023 and was set to launch the MMO in the West in January 25, with Amazon Game Studios acting as publisher.

Unfortunately, the developer has taken the “difficult decision” to cancel the Western release and shut down its Japanese servers on January 18, 2025. In a statement on the game’s website, the developer says they chose to end service as “it will not be possible to provide a service that satisfies all of you.”

At the time of writing, Blue Protocol is still on Steam with a “Planned Release Date: 2024.” However, the game has joined the long list of canceled MMOs.
