The pre-patch for the anticipated WoW expansion, The War Within, was certainly not ideal for players in the North America realm. On 23rd July 2024, players faced significant server issues, leaving them unable to play during the launch. To address this inconvenience, the team at Blizzard has announced additional Game Time as compensation for all players on the American server.
Blizzard officially apologized on 26 July 2024, acknowledging the problems that affected players in the North America realm. This server typically hosts players not only from North and South America but also Australia and New Zealand. Blizzard confirmed that the team will ensure a smoother launch for The War Within during the Early Access on 22 August, and the global launch scheduled for 26 August 2024.
The WoW team confirmed that compensation for affected players in the North America realm will be in the form of additional Game Time. This will be one extra day added by 15 August 2024, to all players on servers from:
In short, players will receive an additional day to cover the server issues on July 23, the launch date of the pre-patch for the highly anticipated expansion The War Within of World of Warcraft.
A small apology from the team, but the pre-patch server issues for TWW are not the only problems. Blizzard announced a list of issues on 24th July, that appeared since the pre-patch version 11.0.0 of WoW. The issues include:
The War Within is a highly anticipated new expansion for World of Warcraft players, and the pre-patch issues have not made many happy. However, identifying these issues before TWW’s launch may be beneficial, giving the team time to fix everything before the official launch on 26 August 2024, or in Early Access on 22 August with the purchase of the Epic Edition of The War Within.
