Age of Mythology: Retold, the remaster of the 2014 Age of Empires spin-off will release sometime in 2024. Here’s everything we know.
Age of Mythology: Retold is a remaster of the 2014 Age of Mythology: Extended Edition, which itself is a remaster of the 2002 classic spin-off from the Age of Empire games. The Retold version will be much like the Definitive Editions of AoE, with a new and improved game engine that includes improved visuals, models, animations, and UI.
This edition will also feature the Age of Mythology and its expansions, which means additional maps, extra campaigns, Titan units, and the Atlantean and Chinese factions. Quality-of-life improvements means various units will have a few tweaks to improve balance and to offer more diverse strategies.
Whether you’re new to the series or a veteran of the RTS genre, Age of Mythology: Retold is bursting with content. You’ll enjoy a 50-mission campaign, visit Troy, explore Egypt, battle against giants, and even command trolls, mummies, and cyclops.
To keep you coming back for more, once you’ve finished the campaign and mastered your tactics, you can jump online and take part in 12-player warfare on randomly-generated maps.
There is no exact release date for Age of Mythology: Retold, but Xbox Game Studios is set to release it on PC this year and just like with the Age of Empire games, it will be available on Xbox Game Pass.
