New Assassin’s Creed Odyssey Trailer Showcases Naval Gameplay

Episode 3 of Ubisoft’s Behind the Odyssey video series has been released and it gives anticipating fans a lengthy peek at Assassin’s Creed Odyssey’s naval gameplay. The video was presented in 4K, showing off exciting naval skirmishes among mighty impressive ships.

Although naval warfare isn’t new to the series, this time around combat doesn’t revolve around cannons. Instead, players will have to rely on javelins and arrows, making battles more up close and personal. You can check out the full episode below:

There also seems to be more emphasis on mobility this time around as it allows for dodging ram. Cleaving enemy ships with your own ram is something players will look to perform every time as cutting opposing vessels in half restores health and grants additional resources.

Players will also be able to recruit lieutenants during their adventures. Some of them will offer unique perks and abilities that’ll increase your naval prowess. Also, a specific in-game ability will also allow you to summon these lieutenants in combat.

Assassin’s Creed Odyssey is set to launch on October 5th on PC, Xbox One and PS4. Pre-ordering one of the special editions will allow you play up to 2 days before launch.
