Causal Loop is a game in development by the team at Mirebound Interactive. A small development team founded in 2023, based in Frauenberg, Germany. A team with 40 years of collective experience in the industry, particularly with experience in some of Blizzard’s franchises.
The game is announced for PC and represents the team’s first project, published by Headup. It offers a first-person narrative adventure with mechanics that allow you to interact with 3 of our “past” versions. Causal Loop Announced: A Mind-Bending Puzzle Adventure
With a surprise announcement on April 11th we have the reveal of Causal Loop. A sci-fi narrative adventure with puzzle mechanics from the German team Mirebound Interactive. A debut title from the team, in collaboration with Headup Games as publisher.
The game is announced for PC and will be available on Steam, Epic Games Store, and GOG. It’s accompanied by an initial trailer that shows us the game world and a brief showcase of gameplay. We will play as the Exo-archeologist Bale, who, during an investigation, becomes trapped in a world where past and present continue to intertwine.
Causal Loop: What We Know About the Game
The Mirebound Interactive team has shared some of the features and the game’s story. In the role of Bale, we will need to find a way to escape the looping world. A world created by the Chronolith, an ancient alien device found in the ruins of what remains of the Tor civilization. With:
- Echo Mechanic: an interesting main mechanic where we can interact with 3 past versions of Bale. Recording, re-recording, and playing back our actions. These will be used to overcome various puzzles and continue our journey to escape the loop.
- Mysterious World: We will explore a mysterious world that remains from the planet Tor Ulsat. We will also uncover what happened to the Tor civilization while looking for an escape.
- Accessibility: Numerous options dedicated to color blindness, motion sickness, and key configuration.
Featuring a fully voiced cast of characters. Set to release on PC, but with no specific release date or window yet. running on Unreal Engine 5.2 with Lumen GI, confirming the presence of Ray Tracing and Upscaling options.
