ASTRO BOT is the new adventure from Team Asobi’s lovable robot, released exclusively for PS5 on 6 September2024. Offering a platforming journey alongside Astro and all of PlayStation’s icons and IPs. A fun adventure for everyone that has captured the hearts of many.
Astro has essentially become the long-desired mascot for PlayStation, selling over 1.5 million copies in just two months after launch. A massive success for Team Asobi, with many fans eagerly awaiting more adventures starring Astro. But the team has a surprise in store with this new update.

The news comes with an official announcement on December 11, 2024, on the PlayStation Blog. Nicolas Doucet, Studio Director of Team Asobi, thanks the community for warmly embracing Astro Bot, sharing that the team has a new update planned.
The Winter Wonder is a holiday-themed update where players can explore a vibrant new level filled with surprises. The new level comes with a special surprise that the team isn’t ready to spoil yet. To access the new level, you’ll need to have completed the game first.

ASTRO BOT Winter Wonder – Release Date and Details
From the teaser, it looks like Astro will visit a festive island bursting with colorful items. Expect gifts, classic Christmas decorations, and a giant animated tree. The update launches on 12 December at 6:00 PM PT (13 December at 3:00 AM CET).
The timing aligns with The Game Awards 2024 hosted by Geoff Keighley, where Astro Bot has 7 nominations, including the coveted Game of the Year. PlayStation and Team Asobi seem set to showcase Winter Wonder during TGA announcements. Don’t miss this event on 12 December at 4:30 PM PT (13 December at 1:30 AM CET).
