Games Leaving Xbox Game Pass for December

Games Leaving Game Pass December 2024

Update Dec 4 Normally, the games set to leave at the end of the month are revealed when the wave 2 games are announced. But not this time. Microsoft has now revealed the games leaving December 31st as well, giving more time to subscribers. Although it is still sad news everytime games leave the service, it is inevitable and so this early announcement is definitely a good way to end the year. There are 6 titles scheduled to depart Game Pass on the 31st, making it a total of 14 games getting removed from the catalog this month.

Here is the list of the six games leaving Xbox Game Pass on December 31, 2024.

  • BlazBlue: Cross Tag Battle
  • Close to the Sun
  • Humankind
  • Lego 2K Drive
  • McPixel 3
  • Party Animals

Original publicationWhile the games entering Xbox Game Pass this month have not been fully revealed, Microsoft has announced the first set of games set to leave the service on the 15th. In total, there are eight games scheduled to depart and it includes a fan-favorite racing game.

Forza Horizon 4, developed by Playground Games, has been a cornerstone in the racing genre since its release. However, due to licensing agreements, the game will be delisted from digital storefronts and removed from Xbox Game Pass on December 15th. As of writing, five achievements have already been discontinued. While this is sad news, FH4 has an offline mode so if you get a copy before the 15th, you’ll still be able to play it.

Another title worth mentioning is The Quarry, a narrative-driven horror game by Supermassive Games, being that it had a relatively short run on Game Pass. It was added in March 2024 but will leave the service after just nine months. Among the list, it is the “freshest” title.

The game’s focus on branching storylines and decision-making has made it a favorite for fans of interactive storytelling, and its early removal is disappointing for players who may not have had time to fully explore it.

Hello Neighbor 2 is also included in the list, which was originally supposed to leave Game Pass on November 30th. There wasn’t an update as to why it didn’t but that doesn’t matter as any extension is much welcomed.

Here is the list of the eight games set to depart Xbox Game Pass on December 15, 2024.

  • Rise of the Tomb Raider *PC
  • Rise of the Tomb Raider
  • Forza Horizon 4
  • The Quarry
  • The Quarry (Xbox One)
  • Hello Neighbor 2
  • Amnesia: The Bunker
  • Rainbow Billy: The Curse of the Leviathan
  • Tin Hearts
  • Forager
