All Marvel Rivals Characters Revealed: Leaked Full Roster and Tier List!

Marvel Rivals is the new team-based PvP game with a Hero Shooter system, featuring characters from the Marvel Universe. The game, currently in its testing phase, will finally launch on 6 December 2024, for PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.

Developed and published by NetEase Games, Marvel Rivals comes with a free-to-play formula. Set in the year 2099 and includes iconic Marvel characters—a mix of superheroes and supervillains.


Marvel Rivals: New Characters Revealed

Thanks to recent playtests and the game’s imminent launch, we now have confirmation of some new characters coming to Marvel Rivals. At launch, the game will feature 28 heroes and villains, with 11 additional characters joining later.

Details about these new characters are still scarce, but we do know their names. We’ll soon learn more about how to unlock them and when they’ll arrive. The confirmed new characters are:

Marvel Rivals: Character Tiers According to the Community

With Marvel Rivals launching on 6 December 2024, many players are eager to try out the new NetEase game and play as their favorite Marvel characters. Like any good Hero Shooter, players will want to explore the strengths and viability of each character. Based on playtests, here’s the tier list:

  • S and A Tier: Spider-Man, Loki, Venom, Scarlet Witch, Groot, Rocket Raccoon, Adam Warlock, Mantis, Magneto, Doctor Strange, Star-Lord, Hela, Luna Snow, The Punisher.
  • B Tier: Peni Parker, Iron Man, Thor, Hulk, Jeff the Land Shark, Magik, Storm.
  • C Tier: Namor and Black Panther.

The S and A Tiers include the most balanced and community-appreciated characters. The B Tier consists of solid picks, while C Tier characters like Namor and Black Panther are currently less popular. Namor relies heavily on turrets, and Black Panther is overshadowed by Spider-Man due to certain kit design choices. Hopefully, future updates will bring buffs or balance changes for these characters.

Marvel Rivals: Gameplay Styles of Popular Characters

Marvel Rivals characters are generally categorized into three roles: Vanguard (Tank), Duelist (DPS), and Strategist (Support and Healer).

Doctor Strange – Vanguard

Considered by many as one of the most powerful characters, Doctor Strange strikes a great balance between offense and defense. His portal abilities are especially useful for supporting allies, making him a top pick likely to receive balance adjustments.

Hela – Duelist

The Goddess of Death is seen as one of the strongest Duelists, with devastating ranged and AoE attacks. She can even two-shot Vanguards with headshots and has great mobility. Hela also has a powerful Team-Up ability with Loki.

Luna Snow – Strategist

The superheroine and K-Pop idol is equipped with ice powers, allowing her to slow enemies and heal allies in various situations. Luna Snow can dramatically turn the tide of battle when paired with a Tank or an aerial DPS.
