Frontier Developments has reportedly canceled the much-anticipated F1 Manager 2025, leaving racing fans and gamers disappointed. The news comes after the company’s FY24 financial report revealed its plans to end its F1 licensing agreement early.
F1 Manager 2025 has seemingly been canceled by Frontier Developments, with the company eager to dump its F1 license after the series’ poor financial returns. As reported by Traxion, Frontier revealed the company’s talks with an IP partner “resulted in the voluntary termination of a contract for a future game before full development started.” That game is now confirmed to be F1 Manager 2025.
Frontier’s F1 Manager series is reportedly yet to turn a profit, and the company is now expected to focus on its other franchises, such as Planet Zoo, the upcoming Jurassic World Evolution 3, and the recently released Planet Coaster 2.
The decision from Frontier to cancel F1 Manager 2025 will be a disappointment but not come as a shock to many fans. Frontier’s share prices dropped after the release of F1 Manager 2022, with the company forced into layoffs after F1 Manager 2023 and F1 Manager 2024 also performing well under expectations, according to the company’s FY24 financial report.
F1 Manager 2025’s cancelation appears to be a result of Frontier’s failure to manage the IP and satisfy fans. Unfortunately, the series will not return anytime soon, particularly with Frontier.
With Frontier looking to dump the series, the future of licensed F1 Manager games is in doubt. Frontier seemingly wants to forget the series as quickly as possible, choosing to focus on its other IPs instead.
Other Frontier Developments titles, like Planet Coaster 2, Jurassic World Evolution 3, and Planet Zoo, are not in danger.
