Since its release, Dead Island 2 has made waves with its vibrant visuals, brutal combat mechanics, and a distinctive sense of humor. Set against a blood-soaked, sun-drenched Los Angeles, players have been able to explore the chaos in “Hell-A” through inventive gameplay that doesn’t shy away from the gore.

The game is currently part of Xbox Game Pass Console and Cloud. And just this month, Playstation Plus Extra Game Catalog also.

Dead Island 2 PC Version Joins Xbox Game Pass

After today, Dead Island 2 will be accessible in all its versions and in all tiers of Xbox Game Pass. And yes, including the Standard tier. It initially entered the service in February this year as a surprise addition. But at this time, only the console version was out as the PC rights to the game was still tied to Epic Games Store. That exclusivity ended in April so many expected Microsoft to announce the PC version joining GP, which didn’t happen as soon as people expected. Fast forward to early this month, the announcement finally came through.

Dead Island 2 was actually playable on PC already via Xbox Cloud Gaming since Feb. But of course, it was buggy and overall wasn’t a nice experience. Some Xbox users pointed out though that instead of playing titles like this via the Xbox App on PC, a nicer experience is through the xCloud website. But then again, that wouldn’t be necessary anymore as Dead Island 2 PC is now part of the service.



This marks the last title in the Xbox Game Pass October lineup. As of writing, there are 8 games confirmed for next month’s list including a recently announced day-one addition, Metal Slug Tactics.
