The Monster Hunter Wilds open beta gives players an early taste of the game with three key features. First, it offers a complete character creation suite, allowing you to fully customize your character and Palico companion. Even better, you can transfer these customizations to the final game when it launches in February, saving setup time later.

In addition to character creation, the beta includes a story trial where you can watch the opening cutscene, dive into tutorials, and go on your first hunt. It’s a great way to familiarize yourself with the gameplay before the official release.

The main highlight, however, is the Doshaguma hunt, where you’re challenged to take down the alpha of the pack. With online multiplayer and crossplay support already active in the beta, you’ll be able to team up with players across platforms. Although only character creations carry over to the full game, participating in the beta rewards you with a charming Palico pendant and a starter item package.
