Designed to push the boundaries of next-gen performance, the game features dynamic weather, real-time ray tracing, and a deep car customization system. And that was just the beginning.

Forza Motorsport Celebrate 1st Anniversary

It’s hard to believe, but Forza Motorsport is already celebrating its one-year anniversary! In just twelve months, this iconic racing game has continued to push the boundaries of realism, immersing players in the thrill of high-speed racing. There have been 12 updates in the past, with update 13 deployed today as part of the anniversary celebration. But before we get into the details of this update, let’s take a look at the year 1 stats for the game.

According to the team’s Data Analytics team, there were a total of more than 162 million races played, which spanned over 2.7 billion miles. And those are not the only impressive feats, but also the fact that more than 30 million cars were bought in the game. Just by this alone, we can safely say that Forza Motorsport has outdone itself, thanks to the core and the eventual updates and refinements that were released.

Furthermore, the analysis showed that the 2020 Honda #73 LA Honda World Racing Civic was the most driven car, very closely followed by the 2018 Ford Mustang GT. And as for the most played track? The Kyalami Grand Prix Circuit is the top choice, followed by Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps.



Honda may have taken the top sport for the car of choice, but Forza Motorsport’s Update 13 is themed around Mustang month.

Forza Motorsport Latest Update

The latest update will be released today, October 14 at 4PM PDT / October 15 12AM BST / 1AM CET. It will be available to download for all players which will grant a new mode, new track, 3 new Mustang cars (hence, Mustang month), and more. Below are the full details for Forza Motorsport Update 13:

  • New Drift Mode
  • New Sunset Peninsula Track
  • New options for Practice and Qualifying in Private Multiplayer races
  • 2024 Ford #25 Mustang RTR, 2024 Ford #88 Mustang RTR and 2024 Ford #130 Mustang RTR cars available in the showroom
  • Additional upgrades for Forza Race Regulations

On top of these exciting additions, players who own the Car Pass, the Deluxe Edition, the Premium Edition, or the Premium Add-Ons Bundle will also be granted the 2024 Ford Mustang Dark Horse, making it 4 new free cars for these lucky gamers.

Alongside the update 13 announcement, it was also confirmed that the Bathurst track will be returning on update 15 which will be deployed in December.

Where to play Forza Motorsport for free?

Forza Motorsport 2023 launched day-one on Xbox Game Pass. The Standard Edition is available to play for free for all active members of PC, Console, and Ultimate tiers. Unfortunately for Standard subscribers, it did not make it to this tier’s catalog.

The one-year anniversary update, or basically update 13, is of course deployed to the Game Pass version too.
