Throne and Liberty is finally launching in the West after its initial release in Korea on December 7th last year. The game achieved great success in Korea and has already gathered a global fanbase. It will be available here on October 1st. The game will be released for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. Developed by NCSOFT and published by Amazon Games.
The open beta has already ended, but there is still a way to play the game before its official release. By pre-ordering an Early Access Pack for Throne and Liberty, you will automatically receive early access and can start playing 5 days earlier, from September 27th. Afterward, the game will be free-to-play.
Throne and Liberty is set in the fantasy world of Solistrium. As a player, you must battle against the evil forces of Kazar, who seeks world domination. Naturally, resistance forms as a group of heroes who gather fragments of the Sylaveth Star to prevent Kazar’s conquest.
You’ll encounter various regions, such as Kastleton, featuring monolithic deserts, dangerous wastelands, bustling cities, and more. The game also includes a dynamic weather system and a day-night cycle, revealing hidden locations and enabling mechanics available only at certain times. The game stands out for its style and graphics.
Unlike many MMORPGs, this game does not feature predefined classes. Instead, you can choose different weapons to create your own play style. You can wield two different weapons and switch between them during combat, allowing you to adapt to various situations. Available weapons include swords and shields, daggers, longbows, greatswords, and more.
Aside from combat, exploration and movement are key focuses. A major mechanic is the ability to transform into various animals, enhancing your mobility throughout Throne and Liberty’s world. Certain transformations can also be used in combat, with effectiveness varying depending on weather and other conditions.
Throne and Liberty, like most MMORPGs, blends PvE and PvP elements, with PvP being entirely optional. The world is filled with different monsters and bosses, including world bosses that can turn entire areas into PvP zones. Keep an eye on your surroundings and the map. There are also PvE challenges where you can team up in large groups to face particularly tough opponents.
Dungeons are also present, which can be tackled solo or with others. Expect hordes of enemies, mini-bosses, and a final end boss at the end. Conquering dungeons will reward you with powerful weapons and valuable loot. The game includes a guild system with missions that require coordination and teamwork.
