Splatoon 3 support ends after two years

Splatoon 3, the third-person shooter in which players fire blobs of ink at each other, will no longer receive new content or regular updates after “two INK-credible years.” The news comes directly from Nintendo after the game’s recent Grand Festival event.

Future Splatoon 3 Content

With the ending of regular updates, Nintendo says the game may get weapon adjustments when and “as needed”. Players can also expect Big Run, Eggstra Work, and Monthly Challenges for a while longer at least, and at the moment, it seems Splatoween, Frosty Fest, and other themes will return.

As for Splatoon 4, Nintendo will likely wait for an official announcement for the Switch 2 release date, which many expect to be 2025. As Splatoon 3 is officially at the end of its life cycle, we could get news on the console and game soon.
