Concord: Sony Takes Game Offline and Gives All Players Refunds
Concord is to go offline as Sony issues refunds to all players. Find out what it means for the game, how to get your refund, and how to buy game keys cheaper on Allkeyshop.
Sony takes Concord offline and refunds all players
Concord, the hero shooter from Firewalk Studios and PlayStation, has shut down just two weeks after release. The announcement comes from Sony, who confirmed the game’s removal from all platforms. Players can expect to receive a full refund in the coming days.
Why Sony took Concord offline and refunded players
Since its release on August 23, Concord has failed to inspire gamers as it hit an all-time peak of 697 players on Steam. It’s not just Steam where it struggled as Sony has confirmed in a statement that the game’s “initial launch didn’t land.”
To that end, Sony has pulled the game from storefronts and issued refunds to everyone who bought the game, regardless of platform from September 6. It’s unclear what it means for Concord’s future. Sony says it will “explore options, including those that will better reach our players.”
Players who bought the game from the PlayStation Store or PlayStation Direct will get refunds through their original payment method. Those on Steam and Epic Games Store will be refunded and contacted once it’s processed. Anyone who has bought a physical copy from another retailer is encouraged to contact the retailer to find out how to get their refund.
