What is Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree?

Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree is the first and latest DLC for the well-known and popular Soulslike game Elden Ring. This DLC was released on June 21 and brings over 40 hours of new content. You venture to the shadow side of the Erdtree, where you will encounter a new story, new enemies, and much more. New features have also been added to make you even stronger as a player.

A few days ago, on July 4, the new Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree Patch 1.12.3 was released. This update addressed and improved several issues with the game. Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree

The first change is in PvP-exclusive balancing. The damage and animation of the “Swift Slash” skill have been reduced.

Next, there were some general balancing updates. The Carian Sorcery Sword has received a lower base damage but improved intelligence scaling. Additionally, the throwing range for the Smithscript Dagger and Smithscript Cirque has been increased. Lastly, the bosses Golden Hippopotamus and Commander Gaius now spawn in the same location during subsequent encounters as they did in the first fight.

Now let’s go over some of the fixed bugs:

  • A bug where the Rolling Sparks skill caused more damage than intended has been fixed.
  • A bug where the Rolling Sparks and Wall of Sparks skills did no damage when the player had certain special effects has been fixed.
  • A bug where the special abilities of Feeble Lord’s Frenzied Flame and Discus Hurl were activated even when used with the left hand has been fixed.
  • When successfully blocking with the new thrust shield, you now lose a bit more stamina.
  • A bug where the Lightning Perfume Bottle and Frenzyflame Perfume Bottle caused double damage has been fixed.

Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree

  • The weapon Bloodfiend’s Arm had an excessive arcane scaling with certain affinities.
  • The faith scaling of the Gazing Finger weapon was not always applied correctly.
  • A bug where the animations of the Fire Knight’s Greatsword differed from what was expected in player encounters has been fixed. Additionally, a bug causing issues with some attack affinities on this weapon has been fixed.
  • Some affinities were too high for the following weapons:
    • Smithscript Dagger
    • Smithscript Cirque
    • Smithscript Axe
    • Smithscript Greathammer
    • Smithscript Spear
    • Golem Fist
    • Smithscript Shield
  • A bug where the player received too little damage from the boss Golden Hippopotamus during unblockable attacks has been fixed.
  • Some performance improvements were also made.
