Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty is the new massive, shiny DLC for CD Projekt Red’s sci-fi RPG, Cyberpunk 2077. Coming on September 26, it stars Idris Elba and has been boosting the game’s popularity again as players flock back to Night City.

WHAT’S PHANTOM LIBERTY?

Phantom Liberty is the first major expansion DLC for Cyberpunk 2077> It introduces Dogtown, a new district of Night City to the game and adds Solomon Reed, an FIA Agent played by Idris Elba.

The story sees V entangled in a spy-thriller in a desperate bid to save the NUSA President. Along with Reed, you’ll forge alliances, break loyalties, and do whatever it takes to survive and thrive.

HOW LONG IS PHANTOM LIBERTY?

Phantom Liberty is stated to be between 10-15 hours to complete, with the entire thing expected to be around 30 hours in length. That includes 13 main quests and more than 15 side missions.

Just as with the main Cyberpunk 2077 game, you’ll make difficult choices that will send you down different paths and result in different outcomes. There will be plenty of replayability as you explore the story.

WHAT’S NEW IN PHANTOM LIBERTY?

A new expansion means new toys to play with and lots of new ways to play Cyberpunk 2077. As mentioned above, there is the Dogtown district, new storyline, new quests, and new characters – but there is lots more to get excited about.

The new Phantom Liberty expansion includes new boss fights, new Relic skill tree, airdrops, over 100 new items, weapons, and cars, and an increase to the level cap to 60.

There is also new vehicle missions and vehicle missile launchers that come alongside the Cyberpunk 2077 2.0 update that released last week.

The Cyberpunk 2077 2.0 update was free for everyone and was released last week before the Phantom Liberty DLC launch.

The 2.0 patch overhauled the gameplay, fixed many things players had previously complained about and made a few much-needed quality-of-life improvements.

As part of the 2.0 update, Cyberpunk 2077 received redesigned skill trees and perks alongside a revamped cyberware system to help you personalize your character and play style more than ever.

SHOULD I START A NEW GAME?

After the Cyberpunk 2077 2.0 update, CD Projekt Red has recommended everyone create a new character and start a new game, as all the changes that came with the 2.0 update has significantly altered how you can approach quests, customize your character, and make choices that will impact story and gameplay.

You can continue your saved game if you like, but if you’re not too committed, we recommend starting a new game and seeing everything the game has to offer from the beginning.

WHAT’S THE PHANTOM LIBERTY DOWNLOAD SIZE?

Phantom Liberty is releasing on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.

The download size is quoted as roughly 32 GB with the entire game and DLC around 100 GB.

The 2.0 update, if you haven’t downloaded it already comes in at about 17 GB. The full install of the game, including DLC, is 54 GB.
