Mafia: Definitive Edition from Mafia Trilogy Has Been Delayed
The current coronavirus pandemic has seen many delays across the world, even video games, and now Mafia: Definitive Edition is the latest to be delayed.
In a dev update, Hangar 13 and 2K announced that Mafia: Definitive Edition will have its release date pushed back from August 28 due to it being “increasingly challenging due to the ongoing global COVID-19 pandemic,” stating that the last thing they want is to “compromise the quality of the experience.”
Mafia: Definitive Edition is a rework of the original, with many redesigns such as the police aggression, fresh dialogue, new physics engine, and an expanded story.
With Mafia: Definitive Edition becoming a passion project for the devs, it’s not surprising that its release date has been pushed back to give the game a little more attention before launch.
With many wanting to take a look at the game ahead of its release, the dev update promises “an extended look at Mafia: Definitive Edition’s gameplay” on July 22, which is only a couple of weeks away.
The dev update ends with the developers expressing their “heartfelt thanks” for the ongoing support while they continue to “build the definitive organized crime saga.”
The new launch date for Mafia: Definitive Edition has been set for September 25, 2020, and will be available for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.

I’m ok about the delay. I much prefer to wait and get a good finished product than it to be rushed and buggy like the Mafia 2 Remaster was at launch.
