Now that we’re in the midst of Steam Next Fest 2024 that has gained traction on Steam in recent years, becoming a highly anticipated event not only for players but also for various publishers and indie developers. An event where they can showcase new titles coming out during the year with exclusive demos, showcases, and developer commentary in live streaming shows.
That’s why we’ve selected 4 of the most interesting titles shown at this Steam Next Fest. 4 titles that will soon be available on Steam, of which 3 already have a demo available to get a good idea of what each of them offers before deciding to buy them.
Deep Rock Galactic: Survivor is the new title from the Deep Rock Galactic IP, an award-winning and fun looter shooter released back in 2020. Survivor offers a different experience from a new team, Funday Games, but under the direction of the original title team Ghost Ship Games now as the Publisher. Unlike the first one, we will have a single-player experience with a top-down view and frenetic bullet hell gameplay. A lone dwarf against hordes and hordes of aliens, gathering resources and unlocking upgrades.
Deep Rock Galactic: Survivor will be released in early access on 14 February 2024.
The first title from the indie studio Sand Door Studio offers an ambitious and intriguing hack slash with pleasant graphics and a strong purple hue. We’ll play as Lysfanga, the name given to the protectors of the kingdom of Antala. Thanks to the powers granted to us by the Goddess of Time, with which we can create our past-selves clones, we must defeat various legions of Raxes demons in various arenas and defend Antala from the return of this ancient threat.
Lysfanga: The Time Shift Warrior will be released on 13 February 2024, but you can already try the free demo until 12 February 2024.
From the team at Lunarch Studios comes Islands of Insight, an original puzzle game in first and third person in an open world setting. Lunarch Studios team offers an open world where we’ll play as a Seeker, through an archipelago of floating islands in a fantasy world. With the promise of well over 10,000 puzzles divided into 24 categories of varying difficulty and genre. Being able to explore the world as we please, as well as being able to interact with other players and unlock new abilities.
Islands of Insight will be released on 13February 2024, but you can already try the free demo until 12 February 2024.
Ultros is an intense and psychedelic metroidvania from the small team at Hadoque. Trapped in the Sarcophagus, a cosmic womb that serves as a cradle for the demon Ultros, and stuck in a perpetual loop of a black hole, you’ll have to traverse the psychedelic game world, encountering fierce enemies, and other characters to understand your role. A hand-drawn graphic style with original and multicolored visuals, all accompanied by a soundtrack by El Huervo, behind some of the OST of the legendary Hotline Miami.
Ultros will be released on 13 February 2024 with a free demo already available.
